As a single parent of a child living with autism in the state of Nevada, Lynda Tache has come into contact with many families over the years, including her own, who have experienced the struggles of raising a child with autism due to lack of programs, support and comprehensive funding. Through her experiences, she has made a difference by testifying, as a parent, in front of the Nevada State Legislature in 2007 to help receive the original state autism services funding, which is known today as the Autism Treatment Assistance Program. She was involved in the process, as a parent and advocate, for the Autism Insurance Bill AB162 which passed in 2009 and served as a parent advocate, lobbying in Carson City, for autism-related bills in 2011 and 2013.
In addition, Lynda is the Founder of the Grant a Gift® Autism Foundation, and serves as Faculty for the NvLEND at the University of Nevada Reno which is a strategic planning project federally funded through HRSA’s Maternal Child Health Bureau and the Combating Autism Act. She is also a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2013, Co-chair of the Learn the Signs Act Early, a Center for Disease Control initiative, and serves on various NV Autism Commission Sub-committees.
Lynda has been a Nevada resident since 1993 and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the UNLV College of Hotel Administration. She was an original team member for the opening of the MGM Grand Hotel and on the original beverage management team for the New York-New York Hotel and Casino overseeing 250+ employees. Lynda also has a strong financial planning background, and has served as the Director of Southern Nevada for a major banking/financial program for Wells Fargo Bank of Nevada. Together, these experiences helped shape Grant a Gift® Autism Foundation’s mission, vision and purpose. Her long-term vision is to help make Nevada a great place to live for all families living with or without neuro-developmental disabilities!
